The red rowan berries for this schnapps are native to Vorarlberg, Austria. As a fruit, the rowan berry is unpalatable. But once distilled, it is a delicacy.
The sun of the rolling mountain landscape allows the sophisticated rowan berry to fully ripen and complete the aromas that are present in the finished spirit. On the nose you can smell herbs, dewy foliage, marzipan but also rose hips and an autumn meadow. In the mouth, each drop remains soft, but full of expression.
The basis of this process is spirit production. After harvesting, we steep the fully ripened rowan berries in alcohol (maceration) and distill this mixture after several months.
We use only the pure fruit, no artificial flavors or colorings.
